Family Support
Hi, my name is Leann Chapman, and I am the Family Support Manager here at Boughton Monchelsea Primary School. |
My role is to support parents and carers to ensure their children can learn, flourish and be happy at our school. I will work closely with parents on any issues that may be impacting on their own or their child’s well-being.
I can offer a range of advice or signpost you towards other outside agencies if required. I also work closely with the staff, enabling effective communication and support between home and school.
I am here to provide any advice, or support with any issues you may have concerning your children, whether that be at home or during school, and will always encourage as much parental involvement as possible to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children.
The work that I do is completely impartial and non-judgemental, providing an understanding ‘listening ear’ if you ever find yourself needing advice or support.
I am an alternative contact who you can approach informally if you have any problems, issues or worries about your child/children either in or out of school - sometimes just a chat can help.
Attendance
Another part of my role is to review attendance and punctuality.
At Boughton Monchelsea Primary school we expect the very best of our children and being punctual and having good attendance is an important life skill to learn early. Arriving to school late can cause a lot or worry and anxiety for children, so we strongly encourage all of our children to arrive promptly.
All pupils should be in school between 8.30am and 8.45am so that they can be ready and settled promptly for the register to be taken.
If your child is absent from school, parents/carers are requested to phone the school office on the first day of absence and, if the absence is for more than one day, please maintain contact with school daily.
Where and when to contact me
You can contact me through the office by calling the school on 01622 743596 or by email Leann.Chapman@boughton-monchelsea.kent.sch.uk.
I am in school on a Wednesday 8.45am – 3.30pm, Thursday 8.30am – 2.45pm and Friday 8.45am-3.30pm.
Below I have attached some useful links of agencies and charities that offer a range of support to children and families.
