How do I apply for a reception place?

Tours for prospective parents applying for a place in reception class run in October and November. Applications are best made online at www.kent.gov.uk. The closing date for applications is mid-January with places offered in April. Places are offered by the local authority according to their set criteria.

How do I apply for a place in another year group?

Applications can be made for other year groups at anytime in the academic year by completing an IYCAF application form which can be obtained from the school office. If there is not a place available then you can put your child on the waiting list and the school will contact you should your child become eligible for a place.

Is Homework set?

Homework is set from taking home early reading books in the Reception Class to quite extensive revision programmes towards the end of Year 6.

Do I get priority for admission if my child attends Boughton Monchelsea Playgroup?

No.   All applications are judged on the criteria laid down by the LEA.   Those are family links (an older brother or sister still in school at the time the child is due to start), health grounds and distance from home to school.
